After experiencing a personal tragedy, she began to work through her grief at age 61, by means of visual art, and credits God for this gift. She continues to produce an impressive array of work at age 81.
According to JoAnne Harris in her Shreveport Times column Art Scene, “Her painting techniques leave nothing to be desired. She has explored several distinct areas of creativity…” and is not limited to any one medium. Her favorite palettes include watercolor, acrylic, and gouache, which she sometimes mixes even with paper collages.
