“Busy” pretty much describes the Foundation over the past few months. Although we postponed many events due to the effects of the hurricanes, since the first of the year we have been making great strides in order to get back to business. Our boards have been meeting in preparation for our upcoming events and fund raisers. We are looking forward to the exciting months ahead.

Our annual Art Event held in April was a huge success. A wine and cheese reception brought Board Members, artists, friends, and family members to the Mansion to unveil the new art which will be exhibited there. The artists whose works were selected for this year’s display are Melissa Bonin, New Iberia; Vincent Darby, Arnaudville; Julia Sims, Ponchatoula; James Michalopoulos, New Orleans; William Hemmerling, Ponchatoula; Gwen Talbot Hodges, Shreveport; Yvette Owens, Baton Rouge; Gail Hood, Covington; Hines Vaughan, Shreveport; Rona Fowler, Shreveport; as well as pieces from the Louisiana State Museum in New Orleans and the Ogden Museum of Southern Art in New Orleans.
