2007 Home Showcase of Art

Governor Blanco and Rona FowlerThe 6th annual "Home Showcase of Art" was held on April 25th at the Louisiana Governor's Mansion in Baton Rouge. Various works of art were selected by the art committe headed by Mr. Roger Ogden joined by Governor Blanco, Mr. David Kahn, Mr. John Bullard, Mr. Thomas Livesay, and Mr. Ned Diefenthal. In conjunction with the art event, the annual social was held with selected artists as the honored guests.

Rona Fowler was selected as one of the few artists to have her works displayed for a 2nd year in a row. This honor is due in part to Rona's creativity as an artist as well as her continued work and donations to various projects including the Hal Sutton's Children's Hospital, the Multi Cultural Center of the South, and many others.

The art rotation at the Louisiana Governor's Mansion is a special program where Louisiana artists and state museums are invited to submit works for consideration to hang in the Mansion for one year. It is a great medium to help boast Louisiana's many talented local artists.
